These hazelnut waffles are very good. Syrup sandwiched between 2 waffle biscuit creates a great snack or dessert.
From the packet
The history of syrup waffles goes back to 1784. A Dutch baker from Gouda used his old cookie crumbs to bake waffles in a hot iron. He cut the waffles in two and put them together again with some leftover syrup. This “poor mans cookie” has been a favourite Dutch treat ever since.
The waffles are crispy and the syrup is sticky and tastes really good. One serving suggestion is that you slightly warm the cookie in the oven or by putting it over your cup of tea, which makes the syrup ooze.
Suitable for vegans and organic. You get 6 waffles in a pack priced at £1.89. I bought mine in the health food shop.
