Bisto Best Caramelised Onion Gravy

Veggie Gravy from Bisto

Caramelised Onion Gravy from Bisto (Premier Foods).  I use this instant gravy quite often as it is so easy to make and tastes good.  The flavour is a strong onion gravy with a good texture which you can make thicker or thinner depending on your personal preference.    I like it on a Sunday Lunch with a nut roast for example the Granose Nutroast which I reviewed in an earlier post, or with mashed potatoes,  I really like it with chips and peas.   Very Tasty.

On special occasions like Christmas or if you are feeling like something fancy I like to add a little red wine to the gravy which adds an extra special rich taste.

When I checked the ingredients list on this gravy I panicked because it contains E635 which is usually derived from meat or fish.  I gave premier foods a call and they informed me that they use E365 which is the Ribotide version, which is Vegan.

Each 200gram Jar is Suitable for Vegetarians, vegan as far as I can tell, however the product is made in the same factory where they handle milk.   each 70ml serving is 20kcal. Sold in most supermarkets.

Black Mud Soap

Dead Sea Spa Magik black mud soap.  They say a natural alternative to regular soap, ideal for problem/sensitive skin.  It is a blend of mud, salt and mineral extracts from the dead sea.  The soap has a good texture and feels nice.  Paul really likes this as it suits his skin,  I personally find it a little drying.

Each bar is Paraben Free, No Animal Fats, Allergen Free Fragrance, Contains Pure Dead Sea Mud with minerals of Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Sodium as Bromides Chlorides and Sulphates.  Sold in health shops.  Veggie Friendly.

Co-operative Lemon Dishwasher Tablets

Animal Free Dishwasher Tablets

From the Co-op 20 lemon dishwasher tablets with self dissolving wrappers.  They say on the pack powerful cleaning, rinse aid action, salt function, glass protection and stainless steel shine.

I have just had my first energy efficient dishwasher and wanted to use a veggie friendly dishwasher cleaner.  So I turned to the Co-operative Supermarket.

I like these as they come in little gel wrappers which dissolve in the hot water, so no mess.  The results are good,  my dishes came out very clean even on a low temp eco wash, no residue and the glass came out sparkling.  I do not live in hard water area, so if you do that might effect results.

BUAV approved (campaigners against animal testing), No animal ingredients which makes them Veggie,  and because it is an own brand,  this pack was a few pounds cheaper than the likes of Finish.  Really good product.

I recently reviewed the Co-op washing up liquid which is also a great product and veggie.

Julian Graves Seaweed Rice Crackers

Thai flavour rice crackers with seaweed from Julian Graves.  Light and crispy crackers  which have been baked not fried.  The texture is good delicate and crispy,  you can taste the seaweed amongst the thai flavour.  This is not my favourite thing however Paul really enjoyed them.  Great for a snack or a party food.

Each 100 gram pack is Suitable for Vegetarians, Suitable for  Vegans, Dairy Free, Low in Fat, Per 100 gram is 392kcal.  Sold in Julian Graves.

Organic Elderflower Tea

Hambleden Elderflower Tea

Organically grown herbal infusions from Hambleden Herbs.   Made using 100%  organic elderflowers.  To make you just add hot water and let it steep for a few minutes.  You can really taste the elderflower,  it is delicate, refreshing and light.  The taste is really good and the sweet smell reminds me of summer.  On the pack they say you can have it cold with a slice of lemon.

Each 37.5g ram box contains 20 enveloped tea bags.   Cetified Organic, Suitable for Vegans, Sold in Health Food shops.
