River Cottage Veg Everyday Cook Book
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s veggie recipe book goes with the Channel 4 series all about Hugh going vegetarian for the summer. I am mostly enjoying the Channel 4 show on Sunday nights so I thought I will give the recipe book a try.
I do like this vegetable cook book, many of the dishes are suitable for vegans or could be easily vegan with a few modifications. I think it is quite inspiring with some new ideas that I have not come across before. Most of the dishes are really quite simple to make, nothing too intensive. The combinations of ingredients are really good. The salads have some really good ideas and some of the really simple dishes like a broad bean bruschetta look divine.
The recipes that I am looking forward to having a go of are the mushroom stoup, a thick mushroom stew with dumplings, a perfect winter warmer. Also the Herby Peanutty, Noodly salad looks yummy, but made with vegan noodles (the recipe calls for egg noodles). The Macaroni Peas looks really interesting, but I am going to make it with some new vegan melty cheese (Sheese) to see how it turns out.
I bought my book from Amazon as it was much cheaper than in the shops.
