A medium mango chutney and a hot lime and chilli chutney from Geeta’s. One of my favourite foods is poppadoms and they are lovely with chutney and pickle, so I was very pleased to try these two versions.
The Mango chutney is made from fresh mangoes and aromatic whole spices. I thought it had a good mango content. The chutney is sweet but not too sweet. More variety of flavour than most mango chutneys with the additional spices, really lovely. The only slight criticism is that it contains quite a few whole cloves, with their tough woody texture.
The Lime and Chilli Chutney is made from Kagzi limes, green chillies and aromatic spices. This stuff is hot, with strong chilli heat but the lime holds its own against it. Although called a chutney, this is what most people would recognise as a lime pickle. The lime and chilli is chopped finely, which makes it easier to gauge the amount required. Personally, I mix this, mango chutney and cucumber together to balance out the heat. Really good lime pickle.
Both jars are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Mango is Per 100grams 258kcal, Lime is per 100grams is 278kcal. Vegan Society and Vegetarian Society Approved.
Please note that my reviews are always honest and unbiased, however I feel it only right to point out that the marketing team of Geeta’s did supply this product for me to review
