A pack of 6 luxury mince pies with brandy mincemeat filling from Grandma Wild’s. I am trying to find as many vegan mince pies as possible this year. This is my 5th find.
I think these are the best mince pies I have found so far. The pastry is light and crumbly and the filling is rich and yummy, lots of fruit laced in brandy and the pies are not too sweet and sickly which I liked. Lovely warm with some vegan cream, custard or ice cream, or just great on their own.
Each box of 6 mince pies is suitable for vegetarians, vegan as far as I can tell. Per 100 grams is 401kcal. I bought mine in an independent health food shop.
Thank you so so much for the info on the mince pies. I love them and as soon as they come in the shops I want to buy and eat them. This year I hadn’t managed to find any that were vegan. What made it worse was my husband coming in from shopping saying he had got M and S luxury mince pies for 10p a box. They were selling them off because of the date on the box. As a vegan I know that Luxury means butter so there was no chance of me being able to eat them. I hoped that he would choke on them and went to the computer and typed in Vegan mince pies 2013 and you came to the rescue. I have just had two of Aldis with a cup of tea for my breakfast and loved them. I am on a mission now to find the others listed. Thanks again for all your help. Kind regards Janet
