A pack of 6 roast garlic and mushroom vegan sausages from Dee’s. I was sent these sausages to try out, by the marketing team of Dee’s.
I found these sausages really difficult to cook. I strongly recommend that you do not fry them. You are best cooking them under the grill or in the oven. They have a vegetable based clear skin to hold the sausage mix together, this melts and goes kind of crispy. When frying it dissolved and the sausages fell apart. Grilling is much more successful. I found the skin to be slightly strange, it was a bit chewy.
If you can get the cooking right these sausages are actually really lovely. They are a bit different than most other veggie sausages. These ones have a lovely garlicky flavour and were well seasoned. Flavoursome British style sausages. I like that they have seaweed in there (Irish Dulse seaweed) and the mushrooms with the spices make a yummy sausage. They are fairly low calorie at 50kcal each sausage. They are gluten free, so they can be enjoyed by coeliacs.
Each pack of 6 35gram sausages are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Per sausage is 50kcal. Low in fat and sugar. Sold in Waitrose and Booths supermarket. RRP is £3.49
