Vegan Classic Pate
A large tube of organic Classic Vegetarian Pate from Tartex.
I like that the pate is ambient, so no need to keep it in the fridge until you open it. the pate is very pale in colour a light beige. It is a very smooth pate, with a firm texture. It has a mild, savoury yeast flavour. I quite enjoyed it.
Each 200gram pack is suitable for vegetarians and vegan as far as I can tell. Per 100grams is 229kcal. Sold in most health food shops.
Ingredients
Yeast, Water, Palm Oil*, Sunflower Oil*, Potato Starch*, Sea Salt, Tomato Puree*, Yeast Extract.
I absolutely love this stuff, been eating it since I was very young, at least 20 years. Had to avoid it in recent years unfortunately due to the palm oil content, although they now claim that they only use palm oil that is responsibly farmed so maybe Tartex is back on the menu.
Ooh, I have only ever tried the mushroom Tartex, it was really nice so this sounds like it would be interesting to try! Will keep my eye out for this ! Great review
