Welcome to veggies.co.uk, I am Maggie Cotton a long time vegetarian who finally became vegan in 2010. I love my diet and I love the fact that nothing with eyes was harmed for my pleasure.
Food is such an important part of life and being vegan I often get questions like what do you eat? How do you live? the answer is very simply, I live very well and I love food. Being the youngest of a large family, I was always picky with food, I would not eat meat as a child and to this day I am the only veggie in the family. Fortunately my husband is veggie so that makes life much easier.
Why set up veggies.co.uk simply I wanted to share my experience of different foods, and let people out there understand that veggie food is great. I don’t want to preach to anyone, my passion should hopefully inspire people to try it and incorporate more into their diets.
I hope you find something you like about my site and if you have any questions or have any advice I would like to hear it.

Hello Maggie,
We have just discovered your lovely site.
Thank you for sharing, and will be back many times.

Hi Maggie
I’ve reading your recommendations in the vegan skincare section and I was wondering how strict you are about animal testing. The reason I’m asking is because despite what they say the Dr Organics range from Holland & Barrett is, according to the anti-vivisection groups I have spoken to, tested on animals at some point during its production, as is the Jergens range. Unfortunately they are allowed to say that they don’t test on animals because of a loop-hole in the law. A case in point is Avon, who said for years that they didn’t test on animals, but, having recently been challenged again and again by the Uncaged group, have finally admitted that, like Dr Organics and many others, their products are, at some point during the manufacturing process, tested on animals.
I hope you don’t mind me pointing this information out but I feel very strongly about animal testing and don’t like the fact that companies can get away with pretending that they don’t test when in fact they do!
Kind regards,
Lisa
HI Lisa
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have trusted the label, that they do not test on animals.
I will do further research on this and comment on it soon.
Take Care
Maggie
