A hand made organic tofu from Dragonfly Foods. I have to admit I have never been a fan of tofu, for some reason the idea of it makes me shudder which is weird because I am vegan, but hey you can’t like everything. So I asked Paul to try this tofu.
This tofu is more “squishy” tofu than some. It has a nice, soft, smokiness to it – not too harsh at all. Paul tried it dehydrated into tofu jerky but because it has a higher water content it took much longer to dehydrate than other tofu he has tried. Here is his recipe:-
Cut the tofu into 3-4 mm slices, marinate in a mix of soy sauce and maple syrup overnight and then dehydrate at 68c for 5-8 hours until desired texture is reached.
I think if you like tofu this is pretty good to use in stir frys, and other meals that need a meat replacement. There are a couple of recipes on the box to try also.
Each 200gram pack is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Hand made in Devon. Organic and Vegetarian Society Approved. I got mine in Holland & Barrett.
