A gluten free bread with maize, chestnuts and linseeds from Village Bakery. Gluten free bread can often be unpleasant, it is hard to get a good bready texture. And I have been trying to find a good vegan version for a while.
Sadly this gluten free bread is terrible. The bread looks nice and smells nice too. It is very heavy, I even found it so dense it was hard to cut into slices. When i first took a bite I thought oh its not too bad and then very quickly the bread began to dissolve in my mouth and turned into a very grainy texture, It was like eating raw flour, I could not even swallow it. Not Good, I would not waste money on this.
Each 400gram loaf is suitable for vegetarians and vegan as far as I can tell (see faq). Per 100grams is 230kcal. Organic and Gluten Free. I got mine in an independent health food shop.
