Vegan Organic Mushroom Pate

A gluten free organic vegan mushroom pate from Granovita.  This is one of the better vegan mushroom Pate out there in my opinion.  I really like it.  There is a strong savoury flavour with bits of mushrooms.  It is soft and spreadable and has a smooth texture.  I love it on crackers or toast,  it is also nice on raw vegetable used as a dip.  These tubes of pate are really good, because they keep in the fridge for ages once you have opened them.  So whenever i fancy a light snack this is always a good option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each 200gram tube is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Gluten free, meat free.  Organic.  Per 100grams is 231kcal.  Sold in health food shops and online.

Redwood Duck Style & Orange Pate

Vegan Duck & Orange Pate

A gourmet duck style and orange vegan pate from the Vegi Deli range of Redwood’s.    When I first saw this pate, I did not find it appealing also  I have never had duck so I had no idea what this should taste like.  The pate is strangely OK,  it tastes like a savoury pate with a hint of orange.  It is quite unusual and it is not something I would want to have often, but for the festive season I think that it works quite well.  The orange adds a refreshing flavour against the savoury pate.  The texture is good and spreads easily on a cracker.  Perfect for the Festive season.

Each 150gram pack is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Per 100grams is 282kcal. Vegan & Vegetarian Society Approved.   No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.  Sold on line at vegan retailers, from Redwood foods direct or you can ask your local health food shop to get some in for you if they have not got any.

Granovita Herb Pate

Vegan Herb Pate

An organic and gluten free veggie pate with herbs from Granovita.   The pate is made with a blend of yeast, tofu and herbs.  The pate is quite savoury and spreads easily on crackers or toast.  The texture is like a smooth thick paste.  I really enjoyed this herb pate.  I like to have pate on crackers as a light snack,  but sometimes I make a meal of it and have it with some nuts and seeds with the crackers and with a side salad.

Each 200gram tube is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Organic and Gluten Free. Per 50 grams is 120kcal.  Sold in health food shops,  it is in the ambient section,  but once open you keep it in the fridge.

Redwood Beanfeast Pate

Vegan Beanfeast Pate

A coarse spreadable beany meat free pate made with 7 types of beans and 4 types of seed with some soya protein and spices.  From the Vegi Deli range at Redwood foods.  Paul tried this as it is not really my cup of tea.  Paul said it is crumbly and roughly chopped with a meat substitute flavour with the beans, there is a slightly smokey background taste.  He really enjoyed it.  Perfect on toast or crackers.

Each 120gram pack is Vegan & Vegetarian Society Approved. Meat and Dairy Free, Cholesterol Free.  Per 100gram is 268kcal.  Sold in health food shops priced around £1.59.

Tartex Organic Green Olive Pate

Vegan Green Olive Pate

Organic vegetarian pate from Tartex.  This is similar to the other tube pate’s I have tried,  it is savoury with a green olive flavour.  The texture is pleasant and easy to spread.  Ideal on crackers or toast.  Also it keeps for ages in the fridge so it a useful store cupboard ingredient.

Each 200gram tube is vegetarian society approved, vegan as far as I can tell.  Organic.  Sold in health food shops priced at around £2.49

Redwood Vegan Mushroom Pate

From the VegiDeli range of Redwood’s this gourmet Vegan Mushroom Pate is good.  The flavour is savoury and has a good mushroom flavour.  The texture is smooth with a few chunks of mushrooms.

This is great on crackers, for sandwiches or with crunchy vegetables.  It would make a good starter at a dinner party.  My only complaint is the packaging,  it looks very nice but it is not practical if you are not using the whole thing in one go.  You have to cut off the end to get in and it is not resealable.

It is made with mushrooms, tofu, wheat gluten and soya protein.

Each 150gram tube is Vegan Society Approved, Vegetarian Society Approved, Dairy Free, 100grams is 274kCal.  Priced at £1.79.  Sold in health food shops.
