Vegan Sweet & Salt Popcorn

A large pack of popcorn with sugar and salt from Morrisons supermarket.  I really like popcorn and I often have some.  This is not the best supermarket brand I have had but it was passable.  The sweetness and salt is well balanced and the popcorn is crispy.  Popcorn is great for sharing and this large bag is great for movie night for at least 4 people.

Each 150gram pack is suitable for vegetarians and vegan as far as I can tell.  Per 50grams is 228kcal.  No artificial colours or flavours.  Sold in Morrisons supermarket, in the crisps and snack Isle.

Diva Rock Salt Popcorn

Vegan Popcorn

Rock salt flavoured air popped popcorn from Diva.  I prefer a mix of sweet and salty popcorn personally,  but I thought I would try this salty version.  It is light and crispy and tasted pretty good.   Popcorn is quite a healthy snack compared to others,  per bag is only 92kcal and you feel like you have eaten something.

Each 21gram pack is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Gluten free. Low fat.  I bought mine in the wholefoods market.

Snackrite Cinema Style Popcorn

Vegan Cinema Popcorn

Ready to eat cinema style popcorn from Snackrite (an Aldi supermarket brand).   You get a giant 200gram pack,  the popcorn is a reasonable quality and tastes great,  very crispy and light, also it is not too sweet.  Great for movie night,  and it is ideal for sharing.  Popcorn is fairly low calorie so it is a good snack.

Each 200gram pack is suitable for vegetarians, vegan as far as I can tell,  ingredients are maize, sunflower oil and sugar.  Per 50grams is 227kcal.  Sold in Aldi supermarkets.

Metcalfes Skinny Topcorn Wasabi

Veggie Wasabi Flavour Popcorn

Skinny popcorn in a Wasabi flavour from Metcalfes.  This is basically popcorn with a wasabi flavouring.  I personally really did not like it,  but I do not like wasabi.  Paul tried it because he does like wasabi but found the popcorn unpleasant.  Not something I would recommend.

Each 25gram pack is suitable for veggies, vegan as far as I can tell.  Per pack is 121k cal.  I bought mine in Julian Graves

Metcalfes Skinny Topcorn

Veggie Salt & Sweet Popcorn

Sweet n Salt flavour popcorn skinny style from Melcalfes.  They say “sensible with Lunch, after the gym, anytime.  Good for snackers, fitness freaks and veggies”  Well I thought this popcorn was just OK,  the corn was mostly crispy and the sugar and salt had a very light touch.  Not a bad snack.  They also call this a gourmet popcorn and I would say that this is ordinary not fancy at all.

Each 25gram pack is suitable for veggies,  vegan as far as I can tell.  Per pack is 123kcal.  I bought mine in Julian Graves.

I personally prefer the Tyrrells Proper Popcorn which I reviewed earlier.

Sainsburys Sweet & Salty Popcorn

Veggie Sweet & Salty Popcorn

From Sainsburys this popcorn is OK but not brilliant.  The flavour is sweet and salty like you would expect and the popcorn is light and fluffy.  It is just not as good as some other ones I have tried.  This is perfect for sharing as it comes in a large bag.  Ideal for a movie night.

Each 150gram bag is suitable for vegetarians, vegan as far as I can tell.  Per 50gram serving is 258kcal.   Sold in Sainsburys.

I prefer the Tyrrels propper Popcorn I reviewed earlier

Shapers Maple Popcorn

Boots Low Calorie Maple Popcorn

From the Shapers range at Boots a low calorie popcorn sweetened with maple syrup.   The popcorn is not fantastic,  the texture is a little like plastic and the flavour is slightly sweet smokey maple flavour.  It tastes like a diet food.  However if you are on a low fat diet this is a filling sweet dessert at only 92kcal per bag.  I recently reviewed Shapers Bacon Crisps which were quite good.

Each 20gram bag is suitable for vegetarians, vegan as far as I can tell,  ingredients are only popping corn, rapeseed oil, sugar, natural maple syrup.  92kcal per bag.  Sold in Boots stores.

I personally prefer the Tyrells Proper Popcorn which I reviewed earlier,  this is also fairly low calorie but the taste is far superior.

Butterkist Cinema Sweet Popcorn

Butterkist Popcorn

Popcorn is a really nice treat, great for watching a movie or a snack.  This Butterkist  Cinema pack is great for sharing as it is quite large and stuffed with popcorn.  The popcorn is light and crispy with a sweet taste.  It is not over sweet which I like. It is very moreish, I find it hard to stop eating,  so maybe tip it into a bowl so you don’t have too much.  Personally I do not think it is as nice as the Tyrrells I reviewed in an earlier post.

Each 120gram family size bag is Suitable for Vegetarians, Vegan as far as I can tell as the ingredients are Maize, Sugar, Vegetable Oil and Soya Lecithins. Per 25 gram serving is 125k Cal.
