A bar of Double Choc flavour cereal bar from Frank Honest Snacking.  Frank have sent me a few flavours to try.

This is a nice bar,  the chocolate topping works really well with the dense fruit with chocolate and cereal.  It is not too sweet which I like. The chocolate topping is blended with coconut cream which makes it nice and smooth.  Great for mid morning or taking with you on a trek.

Each 35gram bar is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Gluten free, dairy free.   This is not widely available yet,  mostly in the East of the UK.  I am told they are expanding to other areas.  Per bar is 118kcal.

Cofresh Chilli & Lime Quinoa Chips

A pack of chilli & lime flavoured quinoa chips from Cofresh.

I have tried quite a few of the Cofresh chips, they use lots of different grains which is really interesting.  These chips are light and have a melt in the mouth texture but are crunchy.  There is lots of heat in the flavour but you can still taste the lime does come through as a welcome addition to the chilli.  Another really enjoyable snack.

Biona Maple Syrup Waffles

A pack of maple syrup organic waffles from Biona.  These were in The Vegan Tuck Box I reviewed earlier.

There are lots of similar waffles on the market and these ones are very similar to others I have tried.  They have a nice sticky chewy centre and the waffle biscuit is really nice and has a soft biscuity texture.  Lovely with a cuppa. Very nice waffles.

Phileas Fogg American Bubble Chips

A pack of American style bubble chips in a Louisiana Sweet & Smokey BBQ flavour from Phileas Fogg.

The crisps are heavily flavoured with sweet, smokey bbq.   These are made from reformed potato so they have a different texture to normal sliced potato crisps.  There is more heat in these than the run-of-the-mill bbq flavoured snacks.  I enjoyed them, but I don’t think everyone would.

Nakd Banana Crunch

A raw fruit and nut bar with crunchies in banana flavour from Nakd.  If you read my blog often you will see that I have enjoyed quite a few varieties from Nakd.

I liked this banana version.  The soya crunchies add a nice texture to the soft chewy bar.  The banana flavour is good and it does taste quite sweet.   Perfect for a healthy snack.  Ideal for lunch boxes or keeping in your bag for when you need something to keep you topped up.

Inspiral Purple Corn Kale Chips

I have reviewed these kale chips before,  but now they have improved and updated the packaging, which is much better.

The Kale chips are lovely and worth a try,  and they are so healthy for a snack.   When I first saw these I was reluctant to try them as I am not a huge fan of Kale.  Here is a link to my review  Kale Chips

Kallo Tomato & Herb Puffed Snack

A pack of corn and rice snacks in a sundried tomato and herb flavour from Kallo.

The texture of the crackers is very similar to other rice/corn cakes, a bit dry but toasted flavour.  The tomato and herb flavouring was quite nice,  you can taste the basil and oregano flavours.  A good snack.

Pastinos Chili & Tomato

A pack of Arrabbiata chilli & tomato flavoured pasta snacks from Roberto & Giuseppe’s Pastinos.

I enjoyed this snack,  they have lots of flavour of the chilli and tomato which is quite strong and the heat builds in your mouth. The crispy pasta tubes make a nice change than more traditional snacks.

A pack of whole dried strawberries from Clearly Scrumptious.  Made with natural ingredients.

The strawberries do not look appetising as they come out of the bag in  a dark splodge,  but stick with them as there is a wonderful strong, slightly sharp, strawberry taste in each moist little dried berry.  I found them a very moreish snack.  Perfect for lunch boxes.

M&S Pumpkin Seed Mix

A pack of sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds with tamari from Marks & Spencer.  It is a bit cheeky calling it a pumpkin seed mix as there are only 20% pumpkin seeds, 76% sunflower seeds and tamari sauce.

I like the seed mix, but I don’t think it is anything special.  The seeds are crunchy and have a light background flavour of tamari.  To be honest I would rather just toast a bag of mixed seed myself and snack on those.  Seeds are rich in Zinc, magnesium and vitamin E, so this is a fairly healthy snack.

Cofresh Poppadum Curls Mango

A pack of lentil poppadum crisps in a mango chutney flavour from Cofresh.  I am loving all the different snacks from Cofresh, they are made from unusual ingredients and are labelled vegan.

These Poppadum Curls are really really crunchy and light,  I really like the texture of these crisps.  The prominent taste is the poppadom itself, along with mint flavour, there is a hint of mango fruitiness too,  but it’s surprisingly subtle.  The heat builds to quite a good level when you are munching away.  Another really enjoyable snack.

Cofresh Poppadum Curls

A plain flavour lentil snack called Poppadum Curls from Cofresh.  I have really enjoyed Cofresh products so far,  they are great little snacks made from all sort of more unusual ingredients.

I really enjoyed these poppadum curls.  I have tried bagged poppadums crisps before from supermarket own brands which are OK, but these curls are quite a bit different.  They are really crunchy and are slightly thicker than the supermarket versions.  These curls have a lovely plain poppadum flavour.  A really good alternative snack.

Chianti & Olive Pastinos

A pack of crispy pasta snacks called Roberto & Giuseppe’s Pastinos from Martorana Snacks Ltd.  Made from pasta a good alternative to crisps.

The pasta is very nice,  light and crispy and crunchy (not too hard).  The flavour is prominent tomato with sweet notes and a faint wine taste, but can’t really detect the olive. Quite a different texture and taste but very enjoyable.

M&S Mediterranean Olive Tortillas

A pack of Corn Tortillas with Green & Black Olives from Marks and Spencer.  Made with authentic Corn Masa.  I recently tried the Multiseed version of these which were very nice.

This bag of olive flavour tortillas is quite good,  I really like the bits of olives in there, the flavour is quite distinctive of olives.  They tortillas are crunchy and fairly light,  they make a nice change from other snacks as I have not seen anything like this before.  Great as a party food or for sharing.  Would go nice with a salsa or humous dip.

The Food Doctor Multigrain Crisp Thins

Vegan Crisp Snack

A pack of natural multigrain crisp thins from The Food Doctor.  These are a cross between a crisp and a cracker.   They have a flavour of corn tortilla’s but with an additional wheaty flavour.  I have to admit I found this snack to be fairly awful.  It might be because this one is a plain flavour.  If they added some spicy flavouring I think it would work,  but as they are the flavour is not great.  Not something I woud have again.

 

Each 85gram pack is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.  Per 25gram portion is 99kcal.  I got mine on sale in Tesco supermarket.
